The international society for Krishna consciousness was founded in 1966. ISKCON belongs to Gaudiya (refers to Bengal) Vaishnavism, a devotional tradition based on the teachings of Bhagvat-Gita and Srimad-Bhagavatam. The Bhagvat Gita is the principal scripture of The Hare Krishna Movement Organization. In Amritsar, there is a branch of ISKCON Temple in Vrindavan Gardens. Environment is usually peaceful in this Temple. However, during Aarti (Religious Prayers) time it may get little crowded.
