Maharaja Ranjit Singh Museum depicts the story of the Sikh ruler Ranjit Singh and holy city of Amritsar. It is an important place to visit in Amritsar in order to learn more about its history. The Museum was built to honour the ‘Lion of Punjab’ a title given to Maharaja Ranjit Singh, who had consolidated Punjab and built a powerful kingdom of the Punjabis. A giant diorama depicts Maharaja Ranjit Singh's major battles. The Museum walls are inscribed with Sikh teachings that form an essential part of the culture. The Museum also has many belongings of the Maharaja like his armour and swords, coins, jewellery, manuscripts and much more. Shoes and cameras aren't allowed inside the Museum. Tickets price for adults is Rs. 40 per child. It is free for kids below 5 years of age.
