Gurdwara Mal Akhara Sahib is located in Khadoor Sahib, in the Tarn Taran district. Earlier this Gurdwara was the family home of Guru Angad Dev Ji. The gathering of sangat was organised here after Baba Buddha Ji requested Guru Ji to appear before the sangat (devotee) for the first time. Kheer cooked by Mata Khivi ji was served. The simplified Punjabi alphabets known as Gurmukhi were recognized by Guru Sahib for the first time in this Gurdwara. The first Gurmukhi School was opened here. To promote fitness among children, Guru Ji organised wrestling matches in this Gurdwara, thus has the name Mal Akhara (Wrestling arena).
