Bibi Amro was daughter of second Sikh Guru, Guru Angad Dev Ji. She played indirect but important role in the establishment of Sikh religion as she influenced Guru Amar Das to convert to faith. She had melodious voice and was quite popular among Sikh Gurus for her singing voice as she used to sing hymns. She learnt Gurmukhi from her father. When Guru Amar Das Ji divided his preachers in 22 districts which were called ‘manji’, Bibi Amro was made in-charge of one these ‘Manjis’. Bibi Amro well is situated in Khadur Sahib, Punjab. This well was dug by Guru Amar Das Ji on the request of Bibi Amro Ji to fulfil the needs of devotees.
