Sacred to Guru Arjan and Guru Hargobind is Vadali Guru, a village 7 km west of Amritsar. According to Gurbilas Chhevm PatshahI, Guru Arjan Dev Ji, stayed here for a period of three years between 1594 and 1597. It is also the birth place of Guru Hargobind Ji. He was born here on 19 June 1595. There are three historic gurdwaras in Vadali Guru. Gurdwara Janamasthan Patshahi Chhevien, also recognized as Atari Sahib, marks the house where Guru Arjan Dev Ji was born. The present place was designed in 1960s by Baba Kharak Singh Sevavale. It consists of a high-ceiling hall with one end of a square sanctum and three sides of a mid-height gallery. There is also a room in the basement of this Gurdwara which is known as Bhora Sahib and it is believed to be the site where Guru Hargobind Singh was born. Gurdwara Manji Sahib and Gurdwara Damdama Sahib are also located at a distance of 30 meters from this place.
