Gurdwara Santokhsar Sahib is a historical Sikh shrine, situated at distance of 700 meters from Harimandir Sahib. Guru Arjun Dev constructed this sarover along with four other srovers in the
city of Amritsar. It is believed that Guru Ram Das ji named this place after a Yogi Santakha who was meditating at this place and breathed his last when he met Guru Ram Das ji. This Gurdwara
is also known as Tahli Sahib as there was a Tahli tree under which Guru Ram Das Ji and later on Guru Arjan Dev Ji used to sit and overlook the excavation of the pond. The Gurdwara, comprising a rectangular hall on the western side of Santokhsar Sarovar is next to the Tahli Sahib stump as one enters the walled compound enclosing the sarovar and the Gurdwara.
